Meditation for Wellbeing

Using meditation for less stress and better wellbeing: an enjoyable, hands-on workshop for medical and other health professionals.
Doctors frequently encounter patients suffering from general stress. Moreover, doctors themselves experience considerable stress as a result of the unique demands of their profession. Meditation can be a simple, effective method to manage stress. This ALM is designed to educate and upskill doctors with an evidence based form of meditation that they can use to manage their own stress as well as understand how to identify patients n their practice who may benefit by learning the same skill. The meditation technique recommended in this programme is based on rigorous evaluations conducted by Dr Ramesh Manocha as part of his doctoral thesis conducted under the auspices of the School of Women’s and Children’s Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales.
This initiative is intended as a non-profit, non-commercial service for Australian doctors.
It is clear that both doctors and their patients are in need of, are looking for, and will benefit from, education about and training in evidence based meditation skills for the prevention and control of stress and the enhancement of wellbeing.
