Meditation is A Uniquely Flexible Stress Management Intervention

Stress management interventions (SMIs), such as meditation, have been identified as simple yet potentially effective health promotional strategies that can make a significant contribution to improving general health, beyond that of simply addressing the immediate impact of work stress. Meditation is a self contained, simple skill that, once taught, can be self administered to both reduce acute stress as well as serve a buffer against ongoing and chronic stress.
