As a result of doing this ALM, GPs will (in order of priority):
| Become skilled in | Recognizing when they are feeling stressed and how it may be impacting on their sense of wellbeing and style of clinical practice |
| How to meditate to deal with acute stress | |
| How to use meditation to prevent and/or reduce ongoing stress | |
| Use advanced meditation techniques to enhance sense of wellbeing and increase resilience at times of increased stress | |
| Improve understanding of | the background concepts, philosophy, applications and experience of meditation |
| the significance of stress and its impact on their wellbeing | |
| Become familiarized with | The use of screening questionnaires (GH12, K10) to identify psychological distress |
| Strategies to systematically identify those at risk (patients, colleagues) by routine use of screening questionnaires |
These Learning objectives will be included
- as part of the advertising brochure and
- will be attached to the front of participant notes
Systems Approach to Safety:
Stress has a significant impact on work performance therefore by reducing stress it is anticipated that both productivity and standard of clinical practice will be improved
